Chainsaws, screwdrivers used in servo pump spat

Chainsaw and screwdrivers were used as weapons during a heated altercation
at a Waikiki service station yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said a 45-year-old man went to the service station
about 12.30pm and became annoyed when he had to move his car to another
pump.
He allegedly threw his money at an attendant and swore.
A 22-year-old onlooker objected to the man's behaviour and an argument
developed.
After a staff member intervened and ushered the two men from the store, the
45-year-old man allegedly armed himself with two screwdrivers and made
threats.
In response, the 22-year-old man and his friend allegedly pulled chainsaws
from the boot of their cars and "revved them".
The spokeswoman said the other man then threw his screwdrivers at the men
and jumped in his car, but as he was driving away the 22-year-old smashed
the driver's window and punched him in the face.
The 45-year-old man accelerated but crashed into a parked car before
reversing as one of the men threw a chainsaw at his car.
The 22-year-old Erskine man has been charged with going armed in public to
cause terror.
The 45-year-old Waikiki man has been charged with common assault and
damage.
